  • A: Nokero lights are not as bright as a typical incandescent bulb, and they are about a 5-watt equivalent. The N200 is about 13.5 lumens on high, and about 5 lumens on low. DBT 1.9 hours when tested with 5000 watt-hrs/m^2-Day on hi setting, 6.6 hours on low. Both the Nokero N100 and N200 are bright enough to read by, cook by, study or perform household tasks. Most importantly it's light is brighter and steadier than a typical kerosene lantern or a candle. It takes the human eye 20-30 minutes to fully adjust to dim light so give your eyes time to adjust.

  • Q: What’s the best way to charge Nokero bulbs?
  • A: Be sure to hang the bulb in full, direct sunlight all day. Make sure the solar panels are getting the most sun possible. Tilt the N200 toward the sun. For both bulbs, keep them out of any shadows that may pass over the bulb during the day. Don’t charge it from behind a window. Also remember - the bulbs works better on sunny days than cloudy days, but they can still charge on cloudy days.

  • A: Nokero has multiple applications. It can provide emergency light during or after natural disasters, it can be an outdoor recreation and camping lantern, or it can be used in and around outdoor patios and marine craft.

  • Q: How long does the Nokero N100’s light last?
  • A: On a full charge (multiple days charging), the Nokero N100 lasts about four hours. The power of sunlight varies according to location, but a day of charging in full sun offers about two hours of light, or more if charged by strong equatorial sunlight.   • Q: How long does the Nokero N200’s light last?

  • A: The Nokero N100's four solar panels charge an 800 milliamp NiMH battery housed inside the bulb. The bulb then delivers power to five LED bulbs mounted inside the globe. The bulb does not slowly become dimmer - when the battery runs out, the bulb shuts off automatically. It can then be recharged in sunlight and used again in any dark setting.

  • A: The Nokero N200 has a single solar panel that can be tilted toward the sun to maximize charge capacity. At night or in darkness, the N200 can be pivoted in whatever direction light is needed.

  • Q: Can it withstand harsh weather?
  • A: Nokero is durable, rainproof, and built of impact-resistant plastic. It can withstand the snow, but it will last longer if not exposed to daily freezing/thawing. The bulb is not waterproof.

  • A: It is 70 mm (2.76 in) in diameter and 125mm (4.92 in) high, or about the size of a standard lightbulb.

  • A: Both bulbs weigh about 6 ounces.

  • Q: How many bulbs fit in a shipping container?
  • A: For the N100, a 20' container is 760 master cartons with 48 pcs in each for a total bulb count of 36,480 pcs. Production lead time is 5-6 weeks ex factory. For the N200, a 20’ container holds about 30,000 bulbs, and a 40’ container holds about 60,000 bulbs.

  • Q: What is the lifespan of the bulb?
  • A: A Nokero light can last 5-10 years if well-cared for. Nokero is built of replaceable parts, which means it can last many years if it's well taken care of. Its LEDs can last for more than a decade, its solar panels for ten years or more, and its battery for about 500 cycles or about 1.5 years. The battery is easily replaced for a very small fee (about $1-2 US depending on market forces).
